372 days ago we accepted the referral for these precious children. We thought we'd for sure have them home by the end of the summer. The planning began. First and foremost was trusting our amazing God to provide the needed funds to bring them home. And HE has....step by step....in some large, but mostly small pieces, God has supplied according to His riches in Christ Jesus. He has used our Both Hands Project, a Lifesong grant through our church, Grace Chapel, a Retail Orphan Intitiative grant, Nash's Snow for Africa business, a huge yard sale, young children's birthday money and allowances, friends' vacation money, offerings of gold and sacrifices by so many who we don't even know......showing us that His glorious riches come from His beautiful working Body and all of its parts!
When we began, we actually thought that the hardest part of the journey would be raising the enormous amount of money we needed to get them home------we could not have been more wrong. Little did we know that God would take us on a ride that would show us His power in a way we'd never seen. He would mobilize a cyber world of prayer warriors along with hundreds of others standing physically hand in hand with us to melt mountains and pray souls into His kingdom. We always knew it wasn't about us, but how much it isn't about us just really makes me laugh if I think about it.
So now we've come full circle and have such a small amount of $ left to cover our adoption expenses. We are incredibly beyond words humbled by the hearts of our amazing friends the Davids, who are committing to help us raise the remaining $1800 we have left. Check out their blog for details! Uncle Caleb and Aunt Becca are themselves in the process to bring home 2 more children from Ethiopia. We traveled together to bring home their beautiful daughter Sakari and Levi and sharing that experience created a forever family bond!
Finally revealed---the picture that launched a hundred crop-outs!
Our travel dates!!! Jimmy and Elle leave on February 20--- I leave the 21st---- we come home Tuesday March 2 @ 5:40!!! Come out and meet the fruit of all of your prayers!!
Much love to everyone!
